What is the month of April all about for you?

As April goes by, we may have a new spring in our step and feel ready for those lighter evenings and longer days. But for some, it maybe that we're still feeling a little sluggish from the affects of a long winter and the thought of dusting off those hibernal cobwebs can feel somewhat overwhelming... It has certainly felt like that for me!
Over the last month or so, I have definitely felt more tired than usual. And yes, part of it could be due to relocating and returning to full time work, but there's also a sense that I am now craving sunlight and some warmer weather! As I moved through March, I definitely become impatient for springtime but there is no hurrying the seasons and the weather it brings...
However, although the month of March did not feel as productive as I'd have liked it to be, I know that there are still lots of positives and accomplishments that I should be celebrating. So as usual, a new month is a wonderful time for reset and reassessment and I ask myself the usual questions:
What is going well in my life?
What are the areas that could do with some readjustments?

Below are a few of my responses to some of the exercises that I have shared with you previously on my trilogy of 'New Year: New Me?' blogs. You may wish to revisit those past blogs, however I have summarised the main prompts and questions here for you.
My word of the year: energy!
Theme of the month: balance and nourishment.
Priorities for this month: self-care; health and well-being; work; developing effective routines; and finally, prioritising the hobbies that are important to me.
Main priority of the month: self-care. I have definitely neglected this over the past month or so thus would like to now prioritise this. I think this is common for a multitude of different reasons: life gets busy and we can't find the time; day to day challenges take over; mood can cloud positive decision making; and these are just a few reasons- there are many more! Therefore, for the remaining days in April I would like to spend more time focusing on self-care and my well-being as opposed to goal setting. Yes it is good to have goals, but sometimes when we focus too much on the future goals, we forget to prioritise ourselves in the moment and don't reward ourselves for past/current achievements. Hopefully, my intention to practise mindfulness will further support my focus of self-care.
Self-development goal: to attend the Bournemouth Writing Festival; to educate myself on possible publishing routes; and continue with current writing projects.
Intention of the month: to practise more mindfulness in order to be more present in my day to day.
Daily habits to incorporate: ten minutes of evening meditation before bed (still working on this!); set a priority for the day to achieve (this could be linked to well-being or hobbies); and continue to drink the recommended intake of water per day.

What went well in March?
What is going well in April?
What would you like to prioritise?
So as you assess April, just remember: you've got this!
