July's Monthly Wellness

It's the first week of July so let's jump into what this month is all about for you!

How are you? No really, how are you? It's a question that we hear all the time- whether we're the ones asking or the ones replying. However, do we ever stop to give a truly honest answer? Most of the time we just say we're fine and move on with our busy lives... But it's so important to check in with ourselves and others.
Recently I have found that I have been living on "autopilot" and sometimes it can feel like I've just got to "get through" the day or the week and, over time, this is not conducive to good mental health. I know that this is the experience of many and we just accept it as being "part and parcel" of 21st century living. However, personally for me, operating like this can make me feel "out of control": like I don't have any control over my life (which is somewhat ironic when the idea of "autopilot" is doing things automatically or routinely without thinking!).
As a result of this, I feel like it is even more important than ever to do my monthly wellness reflections and look to make positive steps in order to correct this over the month of July.
So as usual, I begin by asking myself the usual questions: What is going well in my life? What areas that could do with some readjustments? |

My word of the year: energy!
Theme of the month: inner peace.
Priorities for this month: health & well-being; acting & rehearsals; and working towards the release of my poetry collection.
Main priority of the month: to work on my health and well-being by eating a more nourishing and balanced diet to support energy levels; try to incorporate daily exercise outside for more vitamin d/sunlight; and finally, practise breathing and mindfulness before bed to aid quality sleep.
Self-development goal: to develop my knowledge of social media.
Intention of the month: self-compassion for inner peace.
Daily habits to incorporate: drinking more herbal teas instead of coffee; daily exercise outside; eating my five portions of fruit and veg per day; breathing and mindfulness; and finally, daily check-ins for better mental health.
What am I reading this month? Bull a play by Mike Bartlett.
