Friends, Family and Festive Cheer!

Happy New Year! I can't believe it's already 2026- where did 2025 go? That's one thing I have always found with relocating: time seems to speed up!
Last year was a year of 'new' and 'firsts'! New job, new home and first meetings. It can be both exciting and nerve-racking and as a result, it can also be quite tiring! I am looking forward to 2026: feeling more settled; feeling refreshed with renewed goals and priorities; and finally, trying to create a healthy work/life balance.
This time of year is great for re-assessing values, priorities and goals - especially after time spent with loved ones- and although there is lots that I want to do this year, I have to remember that "Rome wasn't built in a day!". So for now, I am enjoying the moment, appreciating where I am, and finally taking my time to slowly work through my to-do lists.

My Highlights:
Christmas with family and the pets (see pictures below);
seeing Loch Lomond and hiking up Ben Lomond (see picture above);
watching The Rocky Horrow Show at Edinburgh Playhouse;
starring in some student films (see picture on the left);
and finally, de-cluttering and organising for the new year.
Top Tips and Lessons Learnt for Relocating:
Give it time! I've now been here in Scotland for about eleven months and I'm still learning every day from the experience.
Assess what's working and what isn't... Look at your routines to see what energises you and what drains you.
Consider the difference between internal and external pressure... Does everything on your to-do list need to be done today or is that the internal pressure you're placing on yourself?
This is a snapshot of my experience so far and I will be posting a monthly blog: updating you on my adventures in Scotland along with my highlights and lessons learnt!

Thank you for reading my blog

Stay tuned for 'Scotland: Chapter 10'!
