Stepping into September: Your Monthly Wellness...

It's the first day of the month and it's time to step towards your goals and good well-being!

The academic year starts here...


From being both a student and an ex-teacher, I always see the new academic year as a chance to reassess, reset and make some mid-year resolutions. I have currently been working on my goals for the next six months (which I will share in a future blog post) so that I will feel as though I have made good progress by the end of December thus head into 2026 confidently and with purpose!


Therefore September always seems like a good time to get some focus... It's also my birthday month so I enjoy planning time with friends and family and enjoying a few treats here and there!


Below are my usual monthly check-in areas along with my responses. The beginning of every month is a good time to re-evaluate what is working and what areas perhaps need a little more time given to them. You may find that some months are more about one area than others, whereas some months could be a mix of all areas and priorities- it can vary and that's okay!


September's Monthly Check-in:


Theme of the month: self-care.


Priorities for this month: spending time with family and friends; learning my lines for shows and attending rehearsals; promoting and advertising my debut book; self-care; and finally, taking time for myself to continue writing.


Main priority of the month: self-care and nourishment.

Self-development goal: to research opportunities around book advertisement and marketing.

Intention of the month: to nourish myself daily through a range of self-care strategies.  


Daily habits to incorporate: a consistent wake-up time and morning routine; a consistent bedtime; thirty minutes (or more) of walking per day; drinking enough water throughout the day; and finally, scheduled exercise three times a week.

Self-care Activities:

Below is a list of nourishing self-care practices:


  • celebrating my birthday with friends and family for social self-care;

  • enjoying a massage for physical self-care;

  • writing regularly for mental self-care;

  • using affirmations and meditation for emotional self-care;

  • and finally, getting out in nature and sunshine for overall well-being.


So as we step into September, just remember: you've got this and keep stepping towards those goals!
