As we move into May, I'm getting ready for some new mantras!

ree

How is it May already?! I don't know where this year going! Whether the year is going quickly or slowly for you, it's always nice to have a check-in with yourself to review and redo the things that aren't working (along with all the things that are going well) in order to help bring you closer to your goals and dreams.

For some reason, I feel that this year has felt a little "one step forward and two steps back", which can feel a little frustrating at times. However, I am now thinking that a little visualisation along with some motivational affirmations could do the trick for shifting my mindset and giving those energy levels a reboot! I will do a separate blog on this so watch this space!

So as usual, I begin by asking myself the usual questions:

What is going well in my life?

What areas that could do with some readjustments?

ree

Below are a few of my responses to some of the exercises that I have shared with you previously on my trilogy of 'New Year: New Me?' blogs.

You may wish to revisit those past blogs, however I have summarised the main prompts and questions here for you.

My word of the year: energy!

Theme of the month: preparation and planning.

Priorities for this month: saving/finances; rest and relaxation; fitness; healthy eating; and finally, my writing and acting goals.

Main priority of the month: my theme of the month is planning and preparation. Therefore, this month's main priorities revolve around: establishing effective routines; creating balance and harmony; and finally, achieving fulfilment across a range of areas. We all know that planning and preparation is key to achieving long term satisfaction and success so I will be spending a little extra time on organisation. As a result of this, I don't have one main priority as I am striving for progression in equal measures.

Self-development goal: to work on my performance skills through attending auditions and performing my poetry at open mic nights. This month, I am aiming to memorise a poem in order to develop my delivery of it.

Intention of the month: to practise compassion towards myself by celebrating daily wins and achievements.

Daily habits to incorporate: ten minutes of evening meditation and visualisation before bed; incorporate affirmations and breath work throughout the day; and complete thirty minutes of exercise/movement.
